The friends continued tucking into their Christmas dinner, a feeling of joy among them from sharing their incredible experiences around the world with MAF.

‘So, let’s all name the most fun or interesting things we have had in our planes this year!’ said Foxtrot excitedly.

‘Well, one very special flight for me was in the kingdom of Lesotho,’ replied Mike.

‘Where is that? Never heard of it!’ said Alpha the giraffe.

‘It’s a country that sits completely within another country! South Africa to be precise. Lesotho is full of tall mountains and narrow valleys making it very difficult to travel by road. Pilot Bryan and I met a lovely young lady called Ausi Buoang (Boo-WONG) who has a condition meaning she can’t move her arms or legs. Getting around was becoming difficult as her mother struggled to carry her,’ said Mike. ‘We wanted to help them both, so we organised a special rugged terrain wheelchair to be flown to them.’

‘Sounds like the provision of this wheelchair is God’s way of making her path straight and her life easier, like the book of Proverbs 3:5-6 in the Bible tells us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight,”’ said Foxtrot.

‘That’s right, I bet she was happy!’ said Alpha.

‘Exactly that! Now Buoang’s mother can easily push her along the bumpy and mountainous landscape, saving her back from hurting, and giving her more freedom!’ said Mike.

‘I seem to remember, in the past MAF has also organised for a quad bike to be flown into Lesotho for a missionary to get around. Quite fun thinking of one mode of transport inside another!’ remarked the fox.
